Why parents love it
SnoozeShade Original Deluxe is our premium version of the much-loved Original, designed for parents who want a stylish silver exterior and a more deluxe feel.
It has a soft silver outer layer with a black inner layer to block 94% of light. It uses our unique EziBreez® mesh for better-than-breathable airflow and provides 97.5% UV protection (rated UPF 40+). That’s considered medically negligible compared to 99% – and still excellent protection.
The Deluxe version also features black zips, trim, and straps, plus the only certified baby-safe poppers in the world – a quieter alternative to Velcro, perfect for light sleepers or parents who prefer a neater look.

Why shade matters
NHS guidance recommends keeping babies under 6 months old completely out of direct sunlight. Their ultra-sensitive skin has very little melanin, making them more prone to sunburn and overheating.
SnoozeShade makes that easy – blocking up to 97.5% of UV while allowing airflow and visibility for parents. Designed for safe sleep and peace of mind.
What’s the difference in UV protection?
Our black SnoozeShade Originals block 99% of UV (UPF 50+), while the Deluxe version blocks 97.5% (UPF 40+). The difference between the two is considered medically negligible for most babies.
We’re always honest about every detail – so if you prefer a non-black shade, the Deluxe still offers the highest level of UV protection available in a lighter fabric. Unless your baby has a specific medical need for maximum UV blockage, just go with the colour you love.
Why was SnoozeShade invented?
Why not just use a parasol? Many parents find that traditional pram parasols don’t offer enough protection – constantly need adjustment and often leave babies exposed to direct sunlight. SnoozeShade was developed as a safer, more dependable alternative that stays securely in place and provides consistent shade, no matter which way you’re walking.
How it helps babies sleep
Bright light and busy surroundings can easily overstimulate a baby and disrupt their nap schedule. SnoozeShade helps your baby fall – and stay – asleep by creating a calm, darkened space that supports natural melatonin production.
- Used regularly, it becomes a predictable sleep cue that helps regulate your baby’s rhythm and can even support better night-time sleep.
💤 Why daytime naps matter for babies aged 0–6 months
In the first six months, sleep is essential for your baby’s brain development and physical growth – it’s when so much of that magic happens. Daytime naps help lower cortisol (the stress hormone), which means your baby is calmer and more settled when it’s time to sleep at night.
SnoozeShade makes it easier to get those all-important naps on the go – so your baby gets the rest they need, wherever you are.
Safety built in
Invented by a mum and tested to the highest standards, SnoozeShade is made from our exclusive EziBreez® mesh – a proprietary air-permeable fabric that lets air flow freely while blocking UV and light.
The Deluxe version is fitted with the only certified baby-safe poppers in the world. They’re ideal for sound-sensitive little ones and provide a smart, quiet alternative to Velcro.
All our products exceed required UK, EU, and US safety standards, are chemical-free, and are approved by the Melanoma International Foundation and the INPAA in Australia
Every stitch, strap, and zip is baby-safe from birth.

Confused by online advice?
You’ve likely seen viral warnings about covering prams – but many lack context or science.
Experts like the Lullaby Trust advise against using covers that restrict airflow. SnoozeShade cannot restrict airflow due to its scientifically tested air permeability, so air can pass easily through while your baby stays shaded, cool, and calm.
It’s not just breathable – it’s “better than breathable“.
What about airflow and hot weather?
“Breathable” refers to a fabric’s ability to wick moisture which has little to do with airflow. What matters most is air permeability.
SnoozeShade’s EziBreez® mesh is rated as highly air-permeable and allows fresh air to circulate freely while warm air escapes.
On hot days, you can pair it with a portable pram fan – just don’t point it directly at baby. Instead, angle it to gently circulate air around the pram.
